Fruit Salsa

My boss gave me this recipe and said it was to die for...
She is absolutely right!

Shay and I made it tonight!
It was Delicious!

Fruit Salsa

2 medium granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced or chopped small
1 pint strawberries, diced small
2 kiwis peeled and diced small
1 small orange
2 TBS brown sugar
2 TBS apple jelly or apricot jam

Zest orange to measure 1 tsp zest. Squeeze orange to measure 2 TBS juice.
Combine zest, juice, sugar, jam and combine with fruit.
Stir gently to combine. Serve with cinnamon/sugar tortilla chips. Makes 3 cups.

Cinnamon/sugar tortilla chips

12 large flour tortillas
Sugar
Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400. Combine 2 TBS sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Lightly spray tortillas with water and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture. Cut in desired shapes. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for about 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and serve with fruit salsa.

{We didn't love the tortilla chips, I think next time maybe we would spray them
with pam and add more cinnamon/sugar to them. They were okay but not great.
Definitely healthier this way.

Bangs!

I have been wanting bangs for awhile now.
I was wanting a change but didn't want to cut my hair so
Bangs seemed like a great option.

My dear friend Katie Leary Wood cut them.
It was so fun to catch up and
I am very happy with the end result.

Thanks Katie!
I love them!

Just one more...

You would never believe how many times I have uttered these words.
It is far too many to count.
I have become consumed by 24.

Sometimes the episodes get so intense I realize:
I'm not breathing.
My heart pounds relentlessly.
Sometimes I even break a sweat.

{Can this count as aerobic exercise?}

Tonight I got home from work at 10 o'clock.
I was tired but had been thinking about 24 the majority of the time at work.

What was going to happen?
Was the bomb going to go off?
Was Jack really going to die?
{I know Jack doesn't die but I still get nervous}
So many questions are running through my mind.

I thought to myself...
I am only going to watch 1 episode.
But I got so caught up in things.
I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Really I can't recommend watching 24.
It will probably ruin your life.
But you will be so intrigued and entertained.

I dream about Jack Bauer.
I think about Jack Bauer.
Sometimes I wish I was married to Jack Bauer.
{Okay, okay I know I don't want to be married to Jack Bauer but you know what I mean}

Needless to say, I've watched 3 episodes and now am onto my 4th.
This has become a sickness.
I'm obsessed.
Let's be honest, I'm beyond obsessed.

Jack Bauer,
I think I'm in love with you.

Dear Violet-

Pearl and I had a sleepover!
We probably had too much fun...
Here's what we did!

First: Played dress up

Second: Found Nana's stash of Tootsie Rolls
{Which I didn't even know existed}

Third: Had some Johnny-rooskie time

Fourth: New shoes from Nana!

Fifth: Jumped on the bed
{There was lots and lots of jumping on the bed}

You may not know this now but it's
Much more difficult jumping on a tempurpedic mattress
Than a regular mattress.

Sixth: Breakfast in bed
{Pearl took care of ordering our meal}

We had pancakes, strawberries, chocolate milk and french toast!

This is Pearl eating the bed
{I guess the breakfast wasn't quite as filling as you'd hoped}

Seventh: Drew some pictures
{Pearl kindly asked me to draw glasses, Mom, Dad, Pearl and a lamb}

Eighth: Played on my yoga mat
{Pearl kept squealing I love this, I love this!}

Sorry no picture for this one.

Ninth: Brushed our teeth

Tenth: Read Oh The Places You Will Go
And Goodnight Moon
With a flashlight.
{Your big sis really loves flashlights}

Eleventh: Bed time!

Thailand: Day 12

Our trip was coming to a close
We had a long journey ahead of us.

Shay and her pillow
This Pillow came in handy so many times.
I was secretly jealous...

All I had was a neck pillow.
(It sufficed most of the time)

But there were some car rides that
Could have benefited from a pillow like this...

I have never been a light packer.
This trip I made a goal to take one small bag.
Coming home I knew Kritsana would have
An extra bag that I could use.
It was a very wise decision.

We noticed this crowd rapidly growing and growing...

This is what we found...

We don't know exactly who she is but
I'm pretty sure she has something to do with
Pepsi.

I think it's a pretty safe guess.

Good-bye Thailand.
We miss you.

Thailand: Day 11

We spent the morning exploring the resort
And finding seashells on the beach.

Don't you love this bathroom?

We went into Phuket and ate at this delicious place.
We had Three waitresses...
After a while we realized they were actually
MEN

One of them was so beautiful
I remember thinking how beautiful
She was...or he was I mean.

In Thailand when they seat you,
The waitress stays right around the table until you decide
This becomes a little awkward at times.
Especially when you don't read Thai.

The are the most hospitable people on the earth I think.

Make sure to read this brochure...
I thought this was a cute cousin picture...
When I got home I realized I was something a little different.
Thanks Shay!

We Flew to Bangkok
And had a
delicious feast.
I think about this meal
way too frequently.

The fruit was the
sweetest fruit you could ever imagine.
I really don't think anything will ever compare.

This family was so nice and made sure
Everything was perfect for us.

This dear girl (who is the family's maid)
Took at least 25 pictures of us.
She was not discreet.
She laughed.
Her camera made a loud quack noise
We felt very, very weird.
We weren't sure if we were supposed to look.
Or smile.
Or what...

Now I feel even with you because you are on my blog.
But it is a blurry picture.
But I had to put it up anyway.
Thanks for making us feel really awkward.
