Heaven in a box.

I've had this terrible cold for over a week now.
When I got to the Ranch (post to come soon)
I had my dear cousin Shay
Take me to the Walmart in Evanston.

I was in desperate need of some
Puffs plus with the scent of Vick's

vicks_top_img3.jpg

Let me tell you,
If Heaven exists in a box,
this is it.

When we got back,
I had to share...

I think everyone tried at least one.

I don't know what it is about
Vick's Vapor Rub,

But I love it.
I love breathing it in.
I love it, even when I'm not sick.
It is so comforting.

It really is my Heaven in a box.

I feel I also need to mention
my love/hate of this.

These two products are very needed
To fight a killer cold.

Look What I Found...

Have you ever wondered how many chi's my family has purchased over the years?

Well now you don't have to wonder...
I was cleaning the powder room and came across these boxes.
I don't even know what to say about them.

I did however think it was worth a blog post.

Eclipse

Shelly, Ben, Mari, Shay, Nika and I went to
The Midnight showing of Eclipse.

And we loved every second of it.
Seriously it was my favorite one so far!

Ben and Mari left that day for California.
Their flight left at 8 o'clock.

It was fun little last hoorah before they moved.
I'm so very glad we went.
As for them, you'll have to ask.

A great quote to remember.

I don't know how long we have had this quote on our fridge,
But it seems like as long as I can remember.

Sometimes I'm so used to seeing it,
I forget to read it.

I really should never forget.
It is so profound.

Today I was getting some
Simply Lemonade (with raspberries)

I started reading this quote that I have read
at least 100 times.

And it was just what I needed to read/hear.

People are often
unreasonable and
self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
people may accuse you
of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are honest,
people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness
people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today
may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world your best
and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end,
it is between you and God.
It never was between
you and them anyway.

Man-Child Part 2

Don't worry friends,
He didn't come back.
-But-
The Doctor who was working that night,
Set her phone on the counter after finishing a phone call
-And-
The man-child was in the hallway when she finished.
Later that night, her phone was no where to be found.
When she called the phone it would ring 2-3,
Then go straight to voicemail.
As if someone was pushing the ignore button.
She had a feeling it was this man-child who took it.
-So-
She called the girlfiend and asked her if they
Accidently picked it up.
She was very offended.
She said she would never do that.
She said her boyfriend would never do that.
Now I know there is a slight
Possibility that he didn't take it.
-But-
I'm pretty sure he did.
We all are.
Man-child, for everyone's sanity
Please, Please, Please, Please, Please
Never come back.
Ever.

Man-Child.

*Read with caution*
This is a mean and maybe inappropriate post.
But I needed to vent.

I would like you to know about my night at today.

There is this girl in her twenties who came in the other day.
Along with her she brought her child.
As well as her boyfriend who might as well be her child.

He seriously is worse than a two year old.
I would rather have 16 two year olds in a room than him.
Not kidding.
I'm not exaggerating.
I really would.

Tonight they came in again.
Different child though.
But still brought in the adult child.

Let me tell you a little bit about this
Man-child.

Both times he has come in he cranks the t.v. up
He doesn't ask, he just does it.

He pulls a chair maybe 3 feet in front of the t.v.
He doesn't care if he blocks anyone elses view.
He doesn't sit in the actual seat but sits on top of the chair.

Last time Justin (one of the M.A.'s) left his cheetos on the front desk.
His mistake.
Big big big mistake Justin.

This kid (his age may be in the range of 18-22)
Just walked up and grabbed a big handful.
He grabbed another.
And another.
And finished off the bag.

Seriously?
Is this real life?
Am I on a hidden camera t.v. show?

I felt
Confused.
Annoyed.
Shocked.
Appalled.
Uncertain of my life.

He kept coming up and asking for things like:

A cup of water.
Quarters for the soda machine.
Another cup of water.
And another cup of water.
Seriously, I filled his cup 3 times.
I started wondering if he was just pouring it out.

Normally I am happy to do little things for people.
But for him,
I was not happy.
Not happy at all.

Maybe he caught me on bad days.
I don't know.

I have never felt so much annoyance in my life.
I felt like it was a poison that was going to
Seep out of my skin and crawl on to his and kill him.

I felt toxic.
I was going crazy.

Tonight, he kept throwing the child over his shoulder.
He was doing some tricks that I'd never seen.
These tricks made everyone in the room nervous.
That's right there were other patients in the waiting room.

Now you may be thinking that I should of said something to the
Man-Child.
It was my responsibility.
But one thing you should know,
I run from confrontation.
Actually I don't always run.
Sometimes I curl into the fetal position.

You may be familiar with
Flight - Fight - Freeze

Well I'm more of a flight or freeze kind of gal.
I haven't the slightest clue about the fight part.
I am working on it and I have made some progress.

But let's get back to tonight.

He would always start things off by saying,
Can I ask you a question?

Every time I wanted to say no.
But I didn't.
I said yes.

One of those times he asked if he could play with the wheelchair.
I didn't even know what to say, so I said yes.

Once the M.A. pulled them into a room,
He kept coming out of the room and asking for:

Tissues.
Paper towels.
Hand sanitizer.
Otter pops.

And
How much longer the wait would be.

Somehow in the back of my mind
I kept wishing that Jack Bauer was there.

Life seems so much better with Jack Bauer.

All I know is that if he ever comes in again,
I will quit on the spot.

I'm Serious.

I don't know how he does what he does to me,
But he makes me feel so:

Vulnerable I could vomit.
Annoyed that if looks could kill, he'd be dead.
So frustrated that I could scream.

So Dear Man-Child,
Please never ever come back.
At least while I'm working.

A few of my favorite beauty products!

Nivea Body Smooth Sensation Daily Lotion:

Seriously my skin has never been this soft. I've been using this since April and have noticed a huge change in my skin. It also has a really light scent that I enjoy.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara:

Mascara that helps lashes grow stronger while visibly adding length and volume. Who can argue with that? I really have noticed a difference in my lashes. It could be in my head, but who cares!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:

Gives you the perfect amount of moisture. Seriously. This is amazing.

This has nothing to do with beauty products but I think you should know,

I am completely obsessed with this...

Simply Lemonade with Raspberry. It's heaven in a glass. We go through one of these a day at my house. No joke.
